The Digital Dominators Podcast
Guest Tips

Welcome to the Digital Dominators Podcast Community!

First off, a huge thank you for saying yes to being part of the Digital Dominators journey.

I can’t wait to chat with you and share your story with our community.

This page will give you a few quick tips to help you prepare for our conversation and make the most of your episode.

The podcast is all about real stories, practical digital skills, and the people who are making an impact – and that’s you!

Before we hit record!

Here are a few things to keep in mind to make sure you feel comfortable and confident:

Your Tech Setup

Headphones & mic: If you have a headset or external mic, use it – it makes a huge difference to sound quality. If not, your laptop headphones are absolutely fine.

Internet: Please make sure you’re in a space with a solid internet connection (wired if possible, but WiFi works too).

Quiet space: Pick a spot where you won’t be interrupted – no barking dogs, doorbells, or noisy cafes if possible (though I can’t promise Disco won’t make a cameo on my end 🐶).

Lighting & Video

We’ll be recording on video as well as audio, so:

Face a window if you can – natural light is your friend.

If that’s not possible, a simple lamp behind your laptop works wonders.

Make sure your camera is at eye level – a couple of books under your laptop does the trick.

Make sure there is space above your head, your eye line 3/4 ways in the screen.

We’ll check all of this before we start recording.

Being
You

This podcast is about conversation, not performance.

Think of it as a chat over coffee rather than a formal interview.

You don’t need to bring a script or polished answers, just bring yourself, your experiences, and your perspective.

It’s about knowledge sharing what you are best at, and providing as much value to the audience as possible.

It’s an opportunity for us both to promote our businesses.

I am great at guiding the conversation.

During the recording

Here are a few things to keep in mind to make sure you feel comfortable and confident:

  • We’ll spend a few minutes warming up before we start.

  • I’ll guide the conversation, so you don’t need to worry about having “the right answers.”

  • If you lose your train of thought or want to rephrase something, just say so, we can always edit later.

After the recording

Once your episode is live, we’ll:

  • Send you an email with all the details of where and how to access your episode.

  • Share graphics and short clips (reels) you can post on your social media. Please tag @technologycoaching and Sooz Young in these posts when posting.

  • Tag you in posts so your audience can easily find and listen.

  • Add all your details you shared on your intake form to the show notes.
  • Give you a dedicated page on the Technology Coaching website with your episode.

  • Give you a dedicated episode on Youtube with all your details.

The more you share your episode, the more impact it has, both for you and for the Digital Dominators community.
